Oh Life!

I am really going to try to be better about blogging on a more regular basis and now that I have more time, I plan to do so.
Get ready to go on a roller coaster ride because that is what this last month of my life has been.
It all starts with at the end of January Adam and I's relationship hit a tough spot. He has been driving the delivery truck at his work since the beginning of November and since then has been completely miserable. He hates his job and everyday he comes home and complains about how much he hates it and his boss. Well I had about all I could take so we had to have a little "Come to Jesus" about it. I basically told him either you are going to have to learn to love your job, get a new job or find a new girlfriend because this is not working for me. And as any smart man would do, he quickly decided that he would take some time to figure out what he wanted to do with the rest of his life and mainly not be miserable anymore.

The first part of February we got a new manager and a new full time employee at my part time job Peels. The new manager is a 21 year old guy with no management experience and lives with his parents (who happen to be good friends with the Peels). I wonder how he got the job??? The new full time employee is a 40 year old emotionally unstable dim-wit. Shortly after the two of them were hired, I thought to myself, I am not going to last here much longer. Two weeks go by and I want to hang myself in the backroom everyday that I am there. The manager is overly egotistical for no apparent reason and a bit of a liar and the full time lady is STUPID! The store is a mess and things aren't being ordered like they should or run like they should. I am trying to keep my opinions to myself but if you know me very well, I am not very good at that. On Monday the 14th I was told that Peels was lengthening their hours starting that day, Monday and Wednesday 8-7 and Saturday 8-2. I told the manager, I am already working 52 hours a week and I am not picking up anymore hours and I am not giving away anymore of my nights, sorry but it's not going to happen. Also, I need someone to work from 12-2 for me on Saturday because I already have clients starting at 12:30. He said he would try to work something out. When I came in on Wednesday I asked who was working Saturday for me and he said you are. I said no, my job at the salon comes first and that if someone wasn't there I was locking the doors and leaving at noon. He then made some bull shit threat that if I didn't stay that the regional manager wouldn't let me work the PureOlogy booth at that spring show that had already been promised to me. I then told him I was going to email the regional manager and would see what she had to say about that. Later that day we had to have a conference call with the regional manager(who is the sister of my old manager that I didn't like at all)She basically told me that if I wasn't "willing" to work the new hours that maybe it was time I part ways with Peels. I was so pissed! How can anyone just let your only employee that knows what they are doing leave because she is not willing to work 4 more hours in a week. What a bunch of idiots. I later emailed the head of the company and told him what a big mistake they were making. I told my manager that I would be giving my two weeks on Friday.
Meanwhile, Adam has decided that he is going to go down to part time at his job and not drive anymore and go back to school to be a registered dietitian. He is going to have to take a few classes this summer then enroll at K-State in the fall. After he completes that program he will do is masters at KU med in Kansas City.

The next morning at 6:55 am I got a call from my sister, my brother in law was being life flighted to KU med for what they assumed to be bacterial meningitis. I told her anything I could do for her I would. I didn't know how I could help, she didn't know how I could help and it was just a mess. One of her Mother in law's friends ended up driving her up there with Kylen. Soon after she got there it became quite apparent that Kris' condition was not good. He had and infection in his brain and blood and was not responding at all and was septic. Through the day Kris just kept getting worse and worse. He was fighting the nurses and trying to pull out his IV's, he didn't understand why he was there or where he was. He didn't know who my sister or his Mom was. His life was in serious danger and I wanted to be with my sister but couldn't because I had clients and didn't know how I could help. I decided I would take friday off to help her with Kylen. Friday morning, Kris was talking again but slowly and knew and understood where he was at and what had happened! These were all great signs because the Dr didn't know if he would ever come out of it because of how bad he was by the time he got there. I took Kylen home with me that night so Melissa and Kylen could both get some rest. Melissa had never been away from Kylen for a whole night so that was very hard for her on top of all the other stress. He wasn't a very happy camper when he first got to my place but finally settled in on my dad's chest in the recliner and that is where they stayed all night! Kris got out of ICU on Saturday and out of the hospital on Thursday. The whole time was very stressful for our families and we are very thankful for his recovery and that he is going to be okay!

Friday was my last day at Peels and it was very bittersweet. I am glad to be leaving because I don't think I could handle working with the two employees that are there now but I am sad because I can't really afford not to have that job and I have built some pretty good relationships with our customers. I have had many complaints in my last two weeks about the other two and that I should stay because they don't know what they are doing. I encouraged the customers to share that with someone above me, because there is nothing I can do about it. I am very nervous of what this month is going to bring. The salon has been slow for me and I still need to figure out what I owe for taxes this year and pay for the tags on my car. I have no idea how I am going to do that, I guess just have faith that it will work out!!!

The good news is that I shadowed my first class with Pureology and I was released to teach my own classes now! Also, I was asked to work a show in Orlando, FL in June! I am so excited for that! The diet and work out plan started today so I look amazing in a bikini by then and for LA in July. Surely, everything is going to work out!!!!
